The 1975 somebody else edit10/29/2023 I do like the bridge, which breaks the repetition of the rest of the song (“F*ck that / Get Money!”) but even that is repeated four times. The majority of the lines in the song end with “somebody else”, which is successful in communicating that the singer isn’t a fan of the idea of his woman with anyone other than him but after 5 minutes and 48 seconds of this on pretty much one big loop, I’m bored. It’s a very long song, and very repetitive. In fact, I really like everything about it – for about 3 minutes. It’s a chilled vibe, quite separate from the pop-like vocals of ‘The Sound’, and a track that allows the vocals of lead singer Matthew Healy to excel. The last single to be released before the 1975 realise their new album (entitled I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, which will surely win longest album title of 2016) is ‘Somebody Else’.
